When I google "canonical complex structure affine manifold", the first link gives me a very useful simple explanation of canonical complex (and symplectic) structure on affine manifolds. It allows us to figure the mirror pairs between torus bundle over torus. It is one lecture notes from a conference in mirror symmetry in 2008:
